Robert Lamb

Certified Financial Planner

After graduating from the University of Alberta I entered the financial services field where, over the past 25 years, I have learned a lot about money.

Myriads of short courses and seminars taught me better ways of helping individuals and couples define their future.  At the same time, I explored or tinkered with every financial strategy I came into contact with to discover how to best position clients' assets to give them the greatest probability of fulfilling their life goals.

Moreover, I pursued formal designation programs as well -- initially enrolling in the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) program where I completed all requisite courses but one (ironically, the course on financial planning) before abandoning the program to obtain the Certified Financial Planner (CFP)TM designation.

Next, I obtained my Master Financial Advisor (MFA) designation as a Specialist in Retirement Income, and I'm currently enrolled in the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) program.

As if my ongoing personal efforts to improve my knowledge weren't enough, my licenses and designations require me to complete 60 hours of continuing education each year in order to practice my profession.

Notwithstanding all of the above, experience has been the best teacher.

On the personal side of life -- when I'm not working (despite the workaholic stigma), I like to do things such as motorcycling, camping, listening to music, attending the theatre or playing hockey.

I also like to spend time with family.  My wife and I have four children (and one grandchild) between us.  I also have four brothers with whom I'm very close.
